The Look
Okay, so my funny for today is courtesy of my 3 year old Emma. We were sitting at the table finishing up dinner and we (Bill & I) asked her to feed the dog. We were equally impressed and annoyed by her array of excuses not to feed him. (It really is amazing that a 3 year old can talk like her!) Finally, Bill looked at her and said, "You can either feed him or go on a time out." She paused, said "oooookay" under her breath, and gave a look that spoke volumes as she walked away. The look said, "This is bullshit."

My "Nice" Clothes
I had to laugh yesterday as I was finally putting away my stacks of laundry. I was hanging up my "nice clothes" and realized that those were $10 t-shirts from Old Navy. That made me wonder what the hell was folded in my dresser, you know, the average, everyday clothes. Oh, those are the Old Navy t-shirts from last year! Of course!
My Cheap Therapy
Honestly, I never thought blogging was for me. Still not completely sure, but after having all of these thoughts run through my head, I'm beginning to think it could be the cheapest form of therapy out there!
Lately, the stand-up comedianne in me has been feeding me funny thoughts, and while I know I would never pursue stand-up as a career, I feel like I need to start writing these "funnies" down so I can refer back to them when I'm having a crappy day. Most of these funny thoughts have something to do with my role as a mother, or more specifically, a stay-at-home mom. And if you are like me, you often need to be reminded about the positive sides of motherhood. Yes, I know somewhere deep in my brain that what I'm doing is "the most important job in the world", but when your kids are screaming at each other and the house is a mess and there's nothing to eat in the refrigerator, I am not thinking about that. I'm thinking about how bad my life sucks right now and how can I escape!!
So I've decided that a great way to escape is through laughing. No matter how torrid my day is, there is always something funny that happens or a way of looking at something that makes me laugh. I need to laugh more...that is the theme of this blog. I can't promise that I won't vent negativity, but I promise to always end with something that makes me laugh!
